Caravan insurance news - Glastonbury prepares for caravans
The organisers of UK cultural institution the Glastonbury music festival have reported a huge surge in the numbers of festival goers booking caravan space for the upcoming 2010 event; this development is likely to be matched by an upturn in business for caravan insurance companies.
A spokesperson from one caravan insurance company comments, "Festivals like Glastonbury have been notoriously jinxed with bad weather and campers are gradually wising up to the notion that canvas might not be the best option. Festival organisers across the UK are following in the footsteps of their European counterparts and increasing the number of caravan and motorhome pitches."
He added, "The benefits of caravanning over camping at festivals are all too apparent when the bad weather hits, and having the facility to have a cup of tea and somewhere dry to sit when it's wet is always a bonus!"
In fact, it was as long ago as February that concert organizers reported that there were only a few tickets remaining for its campervan and caravan site.
Although an event like Glastonbury is famous for goodwill and good spirits, caravan insurance companies still recommend adequate cover for personal contents in the event of theft.
